One of Obscura Digital’s favorite sayings is “we don’t make experiences that require a mouse” - alluding to the experiential and touch based work this company proliferates. Coming from a web development background, working at Obscura has been refreshing and exciting on many levels, but I was also painfully aware of how awful the website was. The “no mouse” rule seemed to be preventing anyone from addressing the issue directly. Eventually I was green-lighted to design a replacement and went to work, trying to marry Obscura’s gritty black & white aesthetic with a modern dynamic design. With iPhone and iPad versions as well, the easy to maintain and update site solved all our hopes and dreams (sort of).
